The 1966 festival programme is slim, with an abstract design on its cover in the form of a stylised logo of the CIFF letters arranged against a cream coloured background. The back cover is plain white with an advertisement for ‘Nordoff Vodka’ in the form of a Nordoff Vodka bottle placed on a chessboard alongside dark-coloured chess pieces. <br /><br />The programme is a soft card-bound programme measuring 26cm x 11cm. The bind is stapled and it has 80 numbered pages. Note: <em>Tribute to Stanley Kramer</em> by Gessner (pp.69-71), <em>Tribute to Alberto Lattuada</em> (pp.72-75).

The 1965 festival programme is slim, with an abstract design on its cover in the form of text decorated film negative winding around itself on a black background. The back cover is plain white with an advertisement for ‘Cork Dry Gin’ showing the distinctive Cork Dry Gin bottle on a silver platter along with two glasses – one of which is decorated with a lemon slice.<br /><br />The 1965 programme is a soft card-bound programme measuring 26.5cm x 11cm. The bind is stapled and it has 84 numbered pages. There is minor wear & tear on the cover. Note articles: <em>Ten Years Ago</em> (on the birth of the film festival) by Conor Sweeney (pp.6-9); <em>Tribute to Billy Wilder (</em>pp.75-78); Symposium: <em>Censorship and the Film</em> (with Dan Donovan, Mollie Plowright, Fr Holloway, and Fr Kelly) (p.74).

An account of the resource
The 1961 festival programme cover is cream-coloured with a Celtic-stylised faded image of a saint holding a staff in his right hand - probably St Finbarr of Cork. The image is flanked by two emblems – one of the harp and one of the coat of arms of Cork (a ship between two towers). The image is faded where the print has rubbed off. The back cover is cream with no images. The printer is credited at the lower edge of the page.<br /><br />The 1961 programme is a soft discoloured card-bound programme measuring 20.5cm x 13.5cm. The bind is stapled and it has 40 numbered pages.

The 1960 festival programme cover is off-white, with vertical lines in the background dotted with small light stars. In the foreground is a Celtic-stylised image of a saint holding a staff in his right hand. The image is flanked by two emblems – one of the harp and one of the coat of arms of Cork (a ship between two towers). The image is faded where the print has rubbed off. The back cover is plain off-white with no images. The printer is credited at the centre. The cost of the programme (2/-) is noted bottom left. <br /><br />The 1960 programme is a soft card-bound programme measuring 24cm x 16.5cm. The bind is stapled and it has 40 numbered pages. It has wear and tear on the cover which has come away from the rust-damaged staples. A pencilled name ‘Noel Ryan-Savoy’ is scribbled across the top edge of the programme.

Description
An account of the resource
The front cover image on the 2007 festival programme is by Patrick Morrison, who was an LA-based Cork-born artist (1945-2013). It is a detail from <em>The Golden Gate Bridge </em>and depicts a couple on, or near, the red-orange steel struts of the bridge. Wearing a white shirt, with his sleeves rolled up, the man appears to be carrying the woman towards a car. Mustard-yellow clouds swirl against an azure-blue sky in the background. The rich oppressive colours of the scene reflecting the drama being played out on the bridge. <br /><br />The back cover is an advertisement for 'Corona Extra Beer' who are the main sponsors of the festival. The image of an ice-cold bottle of Corona Extra beer – with beads of condensation on its face and a wedge of lime inserted in the neck – dominates the length of the black-green coloured page. A transparent film reel is wrapped around the gold beer-filled bottle in a loose circular fashion. <br /><br />The 2007 Cork Film Festival programme is a soft card-bound programme measuring 21cm x 29.5cm. The spine is glue-bound and it has 136 numbered pages.

The 2002 festival programme cover is a green-themed montage of film stills and festival information. The montage depicts twelve film stills from films being shown that year at the festival; they include <em>Magdalene Sisters</em> (Peter Mullan, 2002), <em>A Man Without a Past</em> (Aki Kaurismäki, 2002), <em>John Ford Goes to War</em> (Tom Thurman, 2002), as well as stills from the shorts programme <em>Aria</em> (Pjtor Sapegin, 2001), <em>A Man Thing</em> (Sławomir Fabicki, 2001), <em>Face</em> (Bertha Bay-Sa Pan, 2002), and the animation programme (a selection from Phil Mulloy). The festival sponsors are noted in a green box at the bottom right corner of the programme and the festival information is noted in a green band above this. <br /><br />The back of the programme, also green, has a circular orange and black image at its centre. The image is taken from <em>Film 1st</em> (Gustave Deutsch, 2002) and is found footage of a young woman, looking down with her hands raised up resting on her head, dressed in a vintage-styled twenties dress accessorised with drapes over her shoulders. <br /><br />The programme is a soft card-bound programme with a glue-bound spine. It comprises 128 pages and measures 21cm x 29.5cm.

The 1997 festival programme cover depicts a hyper-realised image of a large butterfly, with red and yellow wings, at the centre of the page. White spots edge the wings and black lines are traced through the wingspan. Two white lights are projected onto the butterfly from opposite sides of the page and intersect at the centre where the butterfly is located.<br /><br />The back of the programme is a promotional advertisement for the main sponsor 'Murphy’s Irish Stout.' The image is a realistic 3D image of a pint glass filled with Murphy’s Irish Stout, which is a black dry stout brewed in Cork. The logo of Murphy’s Irish Stout is realised on the front of the glass. The glass is full with a cream-topped head. Film negative unspools in the background against a black backdrop and light reflects off the film and the glass to the left of the page.

The 2019 festival programme cover has an orange and purple colour scheme with a purple stripe along the book spine. To the right of the purple stripe there is an image of a young man caught mid-flight in dance on an orange background; he is wearing an embellished Georgian tunic and ballet slippers and is shown arched back with his arms stretched behind him. He is more than likely the actor Levan Gelbakhiani from the Georgian film <em>And Then We Danced</em> (Levan Akin, 2020) which was shown at the festival that year. <br /><br />The festival logo of a three-masted sailing ship sits at the bottom left of the programme cover next to the number 64 which is the edition of the 2019 festival. The rear of the programme, also coloured purple, has the same logo at its centre and the date of that year's festival. The programme is soft-bound with 135 numbered pages.

The eye is looking up through dense eyelashes towards the upper left corner of the programme.
