The 1977 festival programme is slim, with an abstract design on its cover in the form of elongated shapes, in various shades of green, stretching from the top to the bottom of the page. Text is presented in dark brown on the white strip along the right edge of the programme. The back cover is plain white. <br /><br />The 1977 programme is a slim soft card-bound programme measuring 26.5cm x 11cm. The bind is stapled and it has 44 numbered pages. A yellow insert in the programme notes the official opening of the festival by Sheamus Smith, National Film Studios of Ireland, in the presence of Dr Patrick J Hillery, President of Ireland, and Lord Mayor Sean French.

The back cover is an advertisement for the advertising agency Downton Pulford Compton."}" data-sheets-userformat="{"2":11009,"3":{"1":0},"11":3,"12":0,"14":{"1":3,"3":1},"16":10}">The 1976 Gala Premiere programme cover is text-heavy off-white with the partial image of a soldier on the lower left corner – arm raised with spear in hand. The back cover is an advertisement for the advertising agency Downton Pulford Compton.<br /><br />The programme is a soft card-bound programme measuring 28 x 21.5cm. The bind is stapled and it has 15 unnumbered pages together with a loose-leaf insert of the film details within. There is minor discolouration on the cover and two signatures written across its front in pen.<br /><br />The programme was compiled, printed and presented to Cork Film International by the London Friends of Cork for the Gala Premiere of <em>The Man Who Would Be King </em>(John Huston, 1975) starring Sean Connery, Michael Canine, Saeed Jaffrey and Christopher Plummer, to aid the 21st film festival. The film was shown at the Capitol Cinema, Cork, on Saturday, March 20th, 1976.<br /></span>

The 1976 festival programme cover is predominantly green-coloured with the image of a globe, wrapped in a strip of film whose tip settles on the city of Cork. The strip spells out the word <em>film</em> across the lower half of the page. The back cover is plain white. The 1976 programme is a soft card-bound programme measuring 28cm x 22.5cm. The bind is stapled and it has 36 numbered pages. <br /><br />Articles in the programme include <em>A Retrospective View</em> by Dr SF Pettit, UCC (pp.5-7), <em>A Tribute to Satyajit Ray</em> by Conor Sweeney (p.31).

Description
An account of the resource
The 1970 festival programme is slim, with an abstract design on its cover in the form of brown, orange, and green elongated shapes stretching from the top to the bottom of the page. Text is presented in dark brown on the white strip along the right edge of the programme. The back cover is plain white with an advertisement for ‘Paddy Irish Whisky’ stretching across the expanse of the page in the form of a Paddy Old Irish Whisky bottle, alongside a whisky-filled crystal-cut glass.<br /><br />The 1970 programme is a slim soft card-bound programme measuring 26.5cm x 11cm. The bind is stapled and it has 56 numbered pages. There is slight wear and tear and rust damage around the staples.

The 1968 festival programme is slim, with an abstract design on its cover in the form of orange, purple, yellow, and white elongated shapes stretching from the top to the bottom of the page. Text is presented in black on the white strip along the right edge of the programme. The back cover is white with an advertisement for ‘Cork Dry Gin’ stretching across the expanse of the page in the form of a Cork Dry Gin bottle on a silver platter, alongside two gin-filled glasses. <br /><br />The 1968 programme is a slim soft card-bound programme measuring 26.5cm x 11cm. The bind is stapled and it has 60 numbered pages. The cover is signed on the inside, in pencil, with the name <em>Jean Healy – Irish Press</em>. Note: <em>A Retrospective Programme in Honour of Sidney Lumet</em> by Bernard McDonagh (pp.51-52).
