                <text>The original 1960 programme is a soft card-bound issue measuring 24cm x 16.5cm. The bind is stapled and it has 40 numbered pages. It has some wear &amp;amp; tear on the cover – particularly around the rust-damaged staples. A pencilled name ‘Noel Ryan-Savoy’ is scribbled across the top edge of the programme. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This pdf of the 1960 programme includes profiles of Jury president, the animator John Halas (1912-1995), American director Robert Aldrich (1918-1983), Italian director Vinicio Marinucci (1916-2001), film journalist Gilbert Salachas, writer Conor Sweeney, and the commentator Fr Agnellus Andrew (1908-1987), Vice-president of the Pontifical Commission for Social Communications. Articles include &lt;em&gt;The Post-War Polish School of Filmmakers&lt;/em&gt; by Robert Breathnach et al (pp.36-38) and a tribute to Sir Carol Reed by Robert Breathnach (pp.39-40). As well as programme listings the brochure includes a number of advertisements from local and national companies across all sectors of the business world.</text>

                <text>This is a black and white photo of the English actor Tony Wright pinning a corsage on the dress of a companion - identified at the back of the photo as 'Kathleen'. This might be the Irish actor Dublin-born Kathleen Ryan (1922-1985) who starred in the gritty film noir &lt;em&gt;Odd Man Out&lt;/em&gt; (Carol Reed, 1947) opposite James Mason. Ryan was the subject of one of Lous le Brocquy's most striking portraits &lt;em&gt;Girl in White &lt;/em&gt;(1941), which hangs in the National Museum of Northern Ireland.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Tony Wright (1925-1986) was an English actor and Rank Organisation contract player for some years. He was known for his leading-men roles including&lt;em&gt; Seven Thunders&lt;/em&gt; (Hugo Fregonese, 1957), &lt;em&gt;The Spaniard's Curse&lt;/em&gt; (Ralph Kemplen, 1958) during the fifties. Wright was married to the English film actor Jean Munroe (1934-1972) for three years (1956-1959); she starred in &lt;em&gt;Darby O'Gill and the Little People&lt;/em&gt; (Robert Stevenson, 1959) and &lt;em&gt;The Day the Earth Caught Fire&lt;/em&gt; (Val Guest, 1961).</text>
