Breen is shown shaking hands with the Harp rep while leaning over a large foil-covered harp.  Since its origin, the festival depends on the financial support of its sponsors including Player & Wills (Ireland) Ltd, Guinness Ireland, and Irish Distillers Ltd. Harp Ireland sponsored the festival for many years and would sponsor the popular festival club which was held at the City Hall during the 1970s before moving to the Metropole Hotel in 1980.
