Title

Cork International Film Festival programme cover from 1996

Subject

Cork Film Festival

Description

The front of the 1996 festival programme depicts a cartoon-like representation of two heads, that of a red-haired boy and a black-haired girl, on a green and blue background. The characters are facing each other but looking upwards to the blue sky with their mouths open. Blue light is projected from their mouths to the sky and intersects at the centre of the picture. At the end of the projections are similarly two heads looking upwards – one to the sun and the other to the moon.

The back cover is an advertisement for Murphy’s Irish Stout (the main festival sponsors). The image is a realistic 3D image of a pint glass filled with Murphy’s Irish Stout which is a black dry stout brewed in Cork. The logo of Murphy’s Irish Stout is realised on the front of the glass. The glass is full with a cream-topped head. Film negative unspools in the background against a black backdrop and light reflects off the film and the glass to the left of the programme.

The programme is soft glue-bound measuring 21cm x 29.5cm with 104 numbered pages.
