Title

Italians arriving at the Savoy

Subject

Cork Film Festival, Savoy Cinema, Italy, Lea Massari, Fiorella Mari

Description

This is a black and white photo of two glamorous women identified as 'Italians' on the back of the photo dated 1956. The actors, probably Lea Massari and Fiorella Mari, are wearing knee-length evening dresses accessorised with a fur stole and small handbag. A large crowd gathers around them with young children to the front who are smiling up towards the 'stars' and the camera. It would appear that they are arriving at the Savoy Cinema, Cork and the crowds extend as far back as the eye can see. In the background, we see a sign for Jameson whisky which states: 'most people prefer JAMESON...'. (A different version of the same item can be seen in the archive by clicking on the 'Italy' tag.)
