This is a black and white photo of festival director Dermot Breen and his wife Vida Breen with their colleague Tom Nicholas on the grounds of Ashbourne House in Glounthaune, Cork. They stand together and chat in the convivial setting of the Ashbourne House garden party. Nicholas, with a glass in hand, was a founding member of the London Friends of Cork and often hosted events at the Martini Terrace in London for the festival. The 1980 film festival programme notes that this group of London-based film people raised thousands of pounds to help the development of the festival.
