Cork Film Festival, Dermot Breen

This is a black and white headshot of the festival director Dermot Breen (1924-1978). Breen is shown sitting at a desk looking back at the camera while the screen before him shows a wilderness landscape with a cowboy at its centre. A curl of smoke can be seen under the bright light of the lamp on his desk. Breen was very much the driving force behind the inception of the festival and was at its helm until his untimely death in 1978.
