Title
Upstanding Dermot Breen
Subject
Cork Film Festival, Dermot Breen
Description
This is an undated black and white photo of the festival director Dermot Breen in a solitary pose. Breen is a familiar presence in the archive – he was a visionary and the driving force behind the inception of the festival in 1956 as part of An Tóstal, until his untimely death in 1978. Robin O’Sullivan then stepped in to run the festival until Mick Hannigan and Theo Dorgan took up the cudgels in the early eighties.
