Description

This is a 1956 black and white photo of Dame Florence Marjorie Wilcox, DBE, known professionally as the English stage and film actor Anna Neagle (1904-1986). She is seen walking along the platform of the Cork-Kent train station in conversation with Dick Beamish, festival director Dermot Breen, and the station master.

Neagle is dressed in a dark suit accessorised with a fur stole and hat. The station master is facing the camera and gesturing with his left hand. To his right, a young child, with an eye-patch over his left eye, wearing shorts and a dark jacket can be made out. A small crowd can be seen following the group as they walk along the platform of the station.
