Title

Cork International Film Festival programme cover from 1980

Subject

Cork Film Festival

Description

The 1980 festival programme cover has an image of a green long-neck bottle, ‘spraying’ out white film negatives, in a celebratory fashion against a black background. The writing is limited to a gothic style font on the label of the bottle itself. The back of the programme depicts a line drawing of Cork landmarks including the Cork City Hall, Shandon Tower, Blarney Castle, St Finbarr’s Cathedral, and the Beamish & Crawford factory – the sponsors of that year's festival.

The 1980 programme is a slim soft card-bound programme measuring 26.5cm x 11cm. The bind is stapled and it has 82 numbered pages. Note: article by Vida Breen, Cork Film Festival – 25 Years On (pp.7-8).
