David Kelly, Cork Film Festival
Description
This is a signed black and white publicity photo of the Irish actor David Kelly in a posed headshot. He is shown facing off-centre in contemplation while staring into the distance. We can just make out the glint of his ring on his index finger. The image is signed to the former festival director Dermot Breen: Dermot, Best wishes, David Kelly.
Born in Dublin, Kelly (1929-2012) was an Irish actor with a recognisable presence on the Irish stage and screen. His notable work includes Strumpet City (RTÉ, 1980), Into the West (Mike Newell, 1992), Waking Ned (Kirk Jones, 1998), and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Tim Burton, 2005). Into the West was shown at the 2019 Cork Film Festival and is also preserved in the IFI Irish Film Archive.
