Corona Cork Film Festival, Patrick Morrison

The front cover image on the 2007 festival programme is by Patrick Morrison, who was an LA-based Cork-born artist (1945-2013). It is a detail from The Golden Gate Bridge and depicts a couple on, or near, the red-orange steel struts of the bridge. Wearing a white shirt, with his sleeves rolled up, the man appears to be carrying the woman towards a car. Mustard-yellow clouds swirl against an azure-blue sky in the background. The rich oppressive colours of the scene reflecting the drama being played out on the bridge.

The back cover is an advertisement for 'Corona Extra Beer' who are the main sponsors of the festival. The image of an ice-cold bottle of Corona Extra beer – with beads of condensation on its face and a wedge of lime inserted in the neck – dominates the length of the black-green coloured page. A transparent film reel is wrapped around the gold beer-filled bottle in a loose circular fashion. 

The 2007 Cork Film Festival programme is a soft card-bound programme measuring 21cm x 29.5cm. The spine is glue-bound and it has 136 numbered pages.
