This is a black and white photo of the the English actor Dawn Addams at the telephone exchange. Addams, in a light-coloured day dress, is wearing a headset and is shown connecting a call. She is seated next to two telephone operators, also wearing headsets, who are busy with their work connecting calls. The manual telephone exchange served Ireland since 1927 and was phased out of Ireland by automatic technology in the 1980s.
