The small group are standing together engaged in animated conversation. Scholz is smiling broadly up at Breen who is looking towards her while Kotthaus is smoking a cigar which is raised towards her lips and holding a drink in her left hand. They are all dressed in formal wear with Scholz wearing a dark evening dress, trimmed with a white collar, and accessorised with dark satinised long gloves. Kotthaus is wearing an elaboratly designed light-coloured dress pulled in at the waist with dark-coloured laces.

Eva-Ingeborg Scholz (1928-) was a German film and television actor and her companion Eva Kotthaus (1932-), was also a German actor. Kotthaus has a filmography of small parts in a series of movies through the fifties and sixties. Around the time of this photo, marked 1958, Kotthaus would appear in A Farewell to Arms (Charles Vidor, 1957) and The Nun's Story (Fred Zinneman, 1959).
