Description
This is a black and white group photo, dated 1967, of festival director Dermot Breen standing with representatives from the Irish Tourist Board (An Bord Fáilte) and the long-running American men's magazine Esquire. The four guests are shown standing in a huddle smiling broadly and chatting with each other.
The back of the photo identifies the guests as Kevin Dunne, general manager of North America Bord Fáilte, O'Driscoll from Bord Fáilte, and Mr Joseph, travel editor of Esquire magazine. Interestingly, in 1962, Esquire magazine named County Cork as the 'safest place in Europe' in the event of atomic war. (Esquire, January 1962.)
