This is a signed black and white publicity headshot of the English actor June Thorburn. She is resting her chin on her gloved hands as she smiles for the camera. The photo is signed in blue pen with a dedication to the former festival director Dermot Breen: To Dermot, with warm regards from June Thorburn. 
Born in Karachi, British India, Thorburn was a popular English actor whose work included The Pickwick Papers (Noel Langley, 1952), Orders are Orders (David Paltenghi, 1954) and Touch and Go (Michael Truman, 1956). She attended a garden party given by President John F Kennedy and Ireland’s president, de Valera, during Kennedy’s visit to Ireland in July 1963. Thorburn died in an air crash, age 36, in 1967.
