Description
This is a black and white photo of the British documentary filmmaker Paul Rotha standing with a group of colleagues including festival director Dermot Breen. The group of seven, dressed in travel attire, pose genially for the camera in front of the Dublin-Cork train at Kent Station on the Lower Glanmire Road in Cork.
Paul Rotha (1907-1984), wearing a beret, is holding a pipe in his right hand and is looking directly at the camera. He was a member of the first festival jury in 1956. In 1961, his film Das Leben Von Adolf Hitler (The Life of Adolf Hitler) was shown at the Savoy during that year's film festival.
