Description
This black and white publicity photo of the German actor Winnie Markus was taken by the German photographer Arthur Grimm (1908-1990) - one of the most important photographers of the Nazi era. In 1936 he was responsible for the publicity stills of Leni Riefenstahl's Nazi German propaganda sports film Olympia (1938). After the war, Grimm worked as a stills photographer for film and television until 1984. His studio was on Englerallee in Berlin-Dahlem whose stamp is marked on the reverse of this image.
