This is a black and white photograph marked: Brian Coomber at a festival gala screening. A bespectacled Coomber, wearing a light-coloured suit and turtle neck jumper, is shown seated at a table scattered with tableware, an ashtray, and some notes. Behind him a poster for the film The Eagle Has Landed (John Sturges, 1976) is pinned to the paisley-print wallpaper.
The Eagle Has Landed was a British war film based on the 1975 book by Jack Higgins. The cast included Michael Caine and Donald Sutherland as well as the English actor Judy Geeson in a supporting role. Geeson also came to the film festival and her image can be found in the archive. We note that this photo is dated 1972, but the correct date might be 1976 or beyond given the release date of The Eagle Has Landed in 1976.
