This is a black and white group photo from 1956 consisting of nine men and three women all dressed formally in evening wear. The three women are the English actors Josephine Griffin, June Thorburn, and Maureen Swanson and all are dressed in light-coloured shoulderless evening gowns. All three actors seated in the front row are animated, and shown in mid-conversation. Alongside them are seated two of the men, one of whom is the festival director Dermot Breen. The other men in the photo are identified (on the back of the photo) as Jim Cassidy, John E Walsh, Superintendent O'Dowd, Captain Tom McKenna, Professor Breanach, Seamus Fitzgerald, and Brian Sinnot.
