Title

Cork International Film Festival programme cover from 1969

Subject

Cork International Film Festival, St. Finnbarr Statuette, Seamus Murphy, HB Wallis

Description

The 1969 festival programme is slim, with an abstract design on its cover in the form of orange, purple, green, and white elongated shapes stretching from the top to the bottom of the page. Text is presented in black on the white strip along the right edge of the programme. The back cover is plain white with an advertisement for ‘Hewitt’s Whisky’ stretching across the expanse of the page in the form of a Hewitt’s Whisky bottle. Text below the bottle indicates the range of bottle sizes that are available.

The 1969 programme is a slim soft card-bound programme measuring 11cm x 26.5cm. The bind is stapled and it has 60 numbered pages. There is minor wear and tear on the cover. The programme includes articles about the St. Finnbarr Statuette Award (Naomh Fionnbarra), designed by Seamus Murphy (p.5) and a tribute to the American film producer HB Wallis (p.52).
